it’s a Flag Day!

Let’s honour our countries:

May Day

so, we started a nice bank holiday – three days with Family and Friends :)

The day started with rain but by every minute it’s getting better, so Kids and I have already managed to cycle a bit and we are hoping to go out when Ife wakes up (he still needs an afternoon nap – thank God!). Lanre is away today – an adventure and prayer time with Men from church :)

it is more than wonderful to be able to relax on this Labour Day – we’ve had tough previous weeks, so now we just enjoy ourselves. We pray the weather gets better so we can have a short trip to aunt Marysia and uncle Piotrek on Monday :)

April

There is a saying in Poland which in rough translation says that April is like a pot – sometimes cold and sometimes hot. Unfortunately (concerning the cold part) it proves to be true this year. It’s really crazy how the weather changes and we have problems managing these changes. Still, we enjoy every warm moment of this month! Last we really got a big chunk of sun!

It was a great fun in fresh air :) I hope this weekend will also bring some fun in the sun :D

captured

I don’t think there are words to describe what is happening in Poland now. No matter what people’s political views are, we are all captured and shocked by the events of last Saturday, 10th April, 2010, which took place in Smoleńsk. I have never seen such a mourning in my country – we lost the the First Couple and the elites and we are trying to make something of it. People cry and pay their respects. It is a time of special importance – for the Poles and other nations, but – I strongly believe – more than anything for the Christians. it is our time to fight – spiritually – to win the battle of better future for us and our children, for the nation which needs Leaders ready to overcome the sadness and lead Poland to its victory. Maybe, finally, we will find someone who will be able to unite the nation and speak for it – represent in in honourable way and fight for it when necessary. I trust God and I believe every tragedy can be changed into something good – can be the beginning of something unimaginable. are we ready for it? are we strong and united enough? I pray so, and will continue praying, for Poland is worth  it! may God bless Poland!

Easter 2010

what I like about Easter in the first place is the celebration of Jesus’ victory – He is risen, He has done it for us and we are not only free in Jesus but also overcomers in Him. what else can we ask for?

in the second place, this Holiday is such a great celebration of life – it gives so much joy and it’s so wonderful to spend time with the Family! We started quite early today, as kids woke up before seven a.m. of course, they were looking for presents :)

and once they found them, they played a lot!

the morning was also the time of… cooking, as we wanted to add something Nigerian to the Polish Easter table, and Lanre prepared wonderful fried rice:

then we got ready

and went to Grandparents. Traditionally, we started with wished and… a big breakfast. The Polish know how to cook and eat, hehe. as the sun was shining, we also went for a walk. it was a great time together – it’s so good to slow down, enjoy the day and Family! I am happy tomorrow we will have time for ourselves too.

and one more picture, my favourite of the day – with my Mum and Sister:

don’t we look great together?

spring

so, we have now a very special type of spring… after a few wonderful and beautiful sunny days, the rain came… and it doesn’t want to go. what do we do? just catch every possible moment of no rain :)

We also welcomed spring and warmer weather by… cutting Ife’s hair – Lanre was the Master of Ceremony, and He was just great!

Doesn’t Ife look great??

Kemi has a period of partying… seriously! it started with Her B’day and now… every second week she gets an invitation to a B’day party! tomorrow she is celebrating with Iga. and Ife got his first invitation :) a week from Saturday… wow!

so… yes, spring is here, but… we are still waiting for the sunshine :D

Kemi’s B’day

we had a very special celebrating weekend-Kemi’s B’day :) everything started on Friday – Kemi took some sweets to her kindergarten for Friends, later we went to Focus Park for a family special dinner – pancakes :)

Later, we went to Grandparents who prepared a cake and we had lots of fun there :)

(Granddad managed to survie, by the way)

Saturday was a party day – we started cleaning and preparing in the morning, and the guests came after 4pm. Three hours with five kids turned out to be fun, a bit tiring, but I cannot complain :)

We had some tattoos:

a balloon fights:

and Lanre was under the attack:

and yes, Kids slept well after it all :)

Sunday was also a day with Friends, as we were invited to a dinner (Polish one, internationally known as lunch) by Artur and Wiola, and later Wlodek and Beatka came with Julianka for a cake to our place :)

it’s wonderful to have caring Family and Friends. Thank You, Lord!

can I smell spring?!

it seems so! the snow is almost gone, and yesterday we had +10 degrees! today a bit of rain, but… at least it isn’t snow :) so I hope for the best :)

kids had a UFO day at school today. actually, Kemi did, and she was supposed to wear green… so Ife decided to join her:

it’s really nice how Kemi is taught about the Universe – she remembers so many things – even the names of some planets!

it’s nice to finish a tough week and be able to relax a bit. what is more, my scales gave me a nice surprise in the morning… I lost one more kg, which makes it almost 8 since October. maybe it’s not a shockingly big loss, but… I haven’t weighted that little in at least 3 years, so am very happy :)

so… let a nice weekend start :D

in the middle of the week

so, busy bees we realised it’s already the middle of the week! it’s incredible, how time flies, especially when every day is planned to the full! but it’s so good to be together :) and to have Grandparents round the corner! They help A LOT when days are busy like this week! thank U, God!

Educational weekend ;)

As Lanre went away to London, I decided to make myself busy – with the Kids, of course. it helps to overcome this awful feeling of missing my Hubby! so, on Saturday we went to a library – for the first time, to sign kids up and take some books we can find interesting. Ife was more interested in some toys there, but Kemi helped me choose books. I hope we will make it a habit :)

Sunday was a musical day as we went to a special concert for kids in a concert hall – classical music :) Kids listened, musicians presented instruments and involved kids by making them clap and even sing! it was great! and there was also fun afterwards… as kids could go and touch and play instruments used in the concert! wow! I’ve never heard such a noise, but kids just loved it!
