summer

yes, we have a proper summer finally. so proper that many people start complaining about the hit! we try to enjoy it as much as possible even if sometimes it’s difficult. today we went to the swimming pool for the second time- it was fun and tiring – water always makes me soooooo tired! especially with two small kids, yet I like it and so do they!

Kids started summer arts club. they came back covered with paint, but they loved it so am happy too :) part two tomorrow :)

my wise Men

Lanre: Ife, what does “ke nako” mean?

Ife: It’s time.

Lanre: Bravo! so now “ke nako” to go to bed!

I just love my Men!

time flies :)

so I am a bit behind with writing.. I feel ashamed as the last time I was doing it, I thought it would be great to put here at least a few sentences about kids and life every day… hm..hm… maybe during holidays I will be more successful? will try, especially that Lanre will be travelling again.

this weekend is unusual because we are home (not visiting Grandparents or other Friends) and also because of the Presidential elections. we cycled earlier on to vote, saw many people on the way so probably there will be a good turn out. we just pray God is with us and will lead the Nation!

Yesterday I took kids to the concert hall – it was a grand piano and violin concerto. they liked it, especially when Ife could try playing grand piano!

Kemi is now in a bit of a shy period, so she gave up on trying any instruments. still, we had fun – next concert will be in Autumn :)

We are waiting for a bit of holidays now :)

B’day Boy

so today is Lanre’s B’day. despite working a bit, He still has had – I hope -  a great day and we spent it nicely together. It’s good to see my Hubby is full of energy and enjoys playing with kids. we even had a bike ride today (which ended with a small accident of Kemi, but she was very brave). anyway, it’s great we have 4 bikes now, even if Lanre’s will need a replacement sooner or later.

in the late afternoon/ early evening we went to the airfield :) here are a few pics :)

kids couldn’t resist making bubbles :)

The three of them :)

there were many planes landing and taking of, including gliders, so…

Lanre started thinking if we should have bought one instead of…

our wonderful car!

but… as neither of us is a licensed pilot… yes, a car was a good choice :P

and so we drive around… even I managed to drive it a bit – it’s just great!

of course, it’s the end of May and the last week – as always in May was busy! we had.. Mother’s Day!

Kids were so sweet – with flowers and cards… and it was a really special Mother’s Day, as we had three generations of Mothers – Mum’s Mum, my Mum and me. isn’t it special? for me it was – I felt so privileged in the company. I believe Mum and Grandma are really great Mothers – I hope I can follow the example!

A day after the Mother’s Day Kids had a Family Picnic at their kindergarten. It wasn’t the warmest day, but it didn’t rain and we had fun!

Dancing in the group – the man leading the party was really good :D

we were all dancing, but someone had to take a pic!

It’s a small climb for a man, but a great one for Ife!

Yes, May is ending in a great style!

recently

“Recently” seems to cover a long time in my dictionary, hehe. Anyway, a lot has been going on recently, especially because we’ve had school leaving exams for three weeks now! I attended and assessed 4 oral exams (about 70 students altogether) and managed to check 95 written essays, so – busy bee :) Thank God everything seems to be going faster than expected, so I can enjoy this weekend more that I thought I would! isn’t it great?

the highlights:

*Kemi had her hair cut last weekend by the Grandmother:

*On Monday my Dad had his 60th B’day!

HAPPY B’DAY, DZIADZIA!!!

the more the merrier :)

This weekend we had with us wonderful guests – Zan and Wojtek (our Friends from Czech Republic). It was great to talk as we hadn’t seen them for over a year. The new year brings many changes – as their Family will be a bit bigger in July! We are so happy for them!

The weather was nice, so we could just have some great time out and in :)

yes, ice cream was just great!

yes, it was a proper adult size of ice cream!

Kemi had her go at rollerblading and she was improving by every minute! she was really incredible and getting hold of it step by step. I am really proud of her!

It was great time and the weather starts to be springy! I hope it stays so sunny and nice!

Long weekend – the fun continuous :D

We decided – despite the weather – to spend our bank holiday in Poznan – invited by Marysia (my Sister) and Piotrek. The rain wasn’t that bad and we had a great time with them! we could talk a lot – especially Lanre and Piotrek managed to catch up.

Kids decided to make Marysia and Piotrek’s rats really tired:

We also went to the Old Zoo to watch some fascinating fish!

Marysia didn’t manage to get in touch with the fish. It might have been the linguistic problem ;)

Here are our Men on the way for pizza (unfortunately Funmi’s Cafe is too far away…):

An umbrella was a must, but we didn’t get very wet and nothing could disturb our good mood at pizzeria:

Yes, I can’t deny my Sis IS mySis :) She would rather we weren’t that similar, but…

After pizza we decided to make children a bit more tired and we went for a long walk to the main square of Poznan:

After which kids simply deserved a small rest in a nice place:

There was a bit of posing with Mama:

finished with… hot chocolate!

It was a special day away – THANK YOU, MARYSIA AND PIOTREK!

a special day out

Today we have had a very nice day – our first church meeting literally without the walls (as our church is called a church without walls). We went to Drzonków, a small place out of Zielona Góra – there is a sport centre and an area where we could have worship, prayer and baptism in water.

Lanre preached and Marek translated – they seem to have done a good job as I heard people clapping at the end!

I couldn’t listen as I was with kids…

who were cycling so much that they needed a rest!

It was nice – I did my bit walking! The only thing that kept them close to the meeting point was… food – which we all enjoyed:

We also had time to chat with Friends. What I also liked, were some views. I really dream of a better and “younger” camera than we have now, but.. even with our old canon I managed to take a few pictures I really like :)

See the reflection in the pond! isn’t it a beautiful picture o spring?

Sometimes it’s so good to change the environment and enjoy the beauty of another place. It’s soooo relaxing!

it’s a Flag Day!

Let’s honour our countries:

May Day

so, we started a nice bank holiday – three days with Family and Friends :)

The day started with rain but by every minute it’s getting better, so Kids and I have already managed to cycle a bit and we are hoping to go out when Ife wakes up (he still needs an afternoon nap – thank God!). Lanre is away today – an adventure and prayer time with Men from church :)

it is more than wonderful to be able to relax on this Labour Day – we’ve had tough previous weeks, so now we just enjoy ourselves. We pray the weather gets better so we can have a short trip to aunt Marysia and uncle Piotrek on Monday :)
