March

Just one more week of March left and I can’t believe it once again – time just flies! This month kept us busy mainly with kids’ business :) Firstly, Kemi’s B’day – family party, Friends at the party… totally crazy time :) Kemi was more than happy, which I am more than happy about :) we are also looking for a violin for Kemi, as she plans to join music school and practices a lot. I am really proud of her!!!

Ife is learning to tollerblade, and doing very well for his age and not much practice! Great Boy! Yesterday we attended “Open Doors” at the primary school he will start attending this September. He enjoyed the time, and so did I encouraging Parents to send their children there. Also, Kemi performed with other 1-years. What a day it was!

March has been good :)

New Year has come and is running fast!!!

I truly can’t believe it’s already March! when?! how?! Still, we have been enjoying this year immensely, and just pray the blessings continue :)

The most amazing time we had in the middle of February, when we could visit Friends and Family! We stayed in Croydon, with our great Friends, Gillian and Michael. Our wonderful Hosts made sure we feel at home and enjoy our stay. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! We spent wonderful time visiting interesting places, such as the Natural History Museum and Science Museum, and meeting Friends – we managed to spend some time with Bode, Podgórscy Family and Gillian took us to New Life Church where our story started :) We also had two days away – we went to Middlesbrough, to visit Moji (Lanre’s Sister) and her kids – Lois and James. It was the first time Kemi and Ife met them! And I hadn’t seen them since our marriage church blessing in Poland!!!

It was just incredible to take Kemi and Ife to England – the place where we met, fell in love and got married! It was also amazing to see how well they fit into the English speaking environment. A day with Cousins and Kemi was communicating easily in English, Ife also opened to the language and started saying some simple sentences! How amazing… and Lois and James! They had so much patience with our kids despite the age differences! They just involved them and played with them, giving us time to talk to Moji :) and we enjoyed every bit of it. And that’s when my – a bit late – New Year’s resolution formed… we need to spend more time with the Family – not only in Poland, which is quite easy, but abroad, where the Laseges live :) It might not be easy, but spending time with Moji, Lois and James, and last year with Mo and Tamika showed me how important Family bounds are. so…. beware!!! we are coming!!!

It amazes me how Gillian and Michael find strength to do everything they do! They are extremely active church members, they take care of their family, and still – they find time for their Friends, including us :) Our visit to the UK wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for Gillian and Michael! They welcomed us in heir house, and made sure we could visit interesting places and friends:) We had great time in museums with Gillian with all the dinosaurs around and hands-on scientific experiences :) Lanre spent hours chatting with Michael, and in the evenings we had fun playing scrabble. What a relaxation! Days which won’t be forgotten!!!

One of the last days in the UK we spent with Bożenka, Krzyś and Jeremiasz Podgórscy (Kaja was at work) – our dear Friends, who were the very first special Family to embrace us with their love when Lanre moved to Poland. Even though they are far away now, we keep in touch and enjoy every phone conversation, not to mention a visit like this! They welcomed us warmly as ever, with Bożenka making sure our stomachs are full :) We had great time chatting and praising God in our chats, as where our Families are now is all thank to Him! What a joy!!! Thank you, Friends, for being in our life :D

As mentioned before, we met one more special Friend – Bode. We couldn’t spend much time together, but even a short time by tea/coffee allowed us to enjoy Bode’s company. How good to see God changes  way, also Bode’s life, and leads him – maybe in a surprising way, but Bode looks better than ever!!!

On Sunday, just a day before we left we went to the New Life Christian Centre. It’s a place where I met God, where I was baptised, and where I met Lanre… so many memories! the service was great as ever, especially the praise and worship, and we enjoyed the presence of God!!! So many people we know around… especially – Pauline and David Fellows – miss you!!!

Yes… the trip is a long story. Thank you, God, we could have this wonderful time of rest with Friends and Family!

Kemi in the Royal Rangers

Kemi today went for another meeting of the scouts – Royal Rangers. It’s a Christian scout group, and Kemi is in the youngest team (hm… there must be some professional name for it…). I am really proud of her, as she wasn’t sure she should go as her best Friend didn’t, yet she decided to do it independently! For Kemi doing things without Friend’s support isn’t the easiest thing, so I am really proud of her taking such steps. My Big Girl!!!

on the verge of the end of the year

I can’t really believe it’s already 30.12.2011. One more day and we will be welcoming 2012! Funny enough, we are one of the first among Family and Friends to do so, so there will be quite a gap (a year ;) ) between us and many of the Family and fRiends for a while. I always find it very funny – and that’s when we phone everybody to wish all the best and tell them whar the New Year brings ;)
Still, as usual, we are not ready for the New Year’s Eve party at all. This year it’s just us, so we there won’t be too many preparations, but I am planning to decorate the house and buy some balloons. plus it’s the only occassion when kids are alolowed crisps, so I need to buy some :) oh, fun! and time for New Year resolutions… any ideas?

Christmas Time

With time flying like crazy we finally arrived to Christmas! What a blessing! Finally we could sit, enjoy the company of the Family and simply rest! What is more, we were able to talk to the Family in USA – and even to see them via iPod connection (thank God for developing technology!). What a joy!!! This Christmas time has been really special – it so good just to talk, spend time together and enjoy slowing down :)

an update – August to October :)

There are no words to express how sorry I am that I haven’t been here for such a long time. Somehow days seem to be speeding up – many good things happen, but we also work a lot which makes us quite tired, hence – no strength to write. Yet today I am planning to make up for it a bit :)

First – our very special trip to the French Riviera. It was a wonderful time – ten days of great holidays combined with work, but in a very nice way. The heat was incredible, but somehow we all managed to enjoy it! Maybe because we could swim a lot, or because we saw many new things there was no time to think about being too hot, or… maybe it’s in our blood? Anyhow, it was just great, even if I was sweating more than ever in my life! We saw the most important places around – Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo – and those not so well known, yet beautiful – Antibes (with Picasso’s museum) or St. Paul’s (where Chagall is buried, as many painters used to spend a lot of time there). We also saw the most incredible aquarium, with the shows of orcas and dolphines. Thank God for Lanre’s great idea of taking scooters for the Kids – without them it would be much too difficult for them to walk around. We have the most colourful memories of these times.

But then we came home – very happy as… on the doorstep (literally) there were waiting for us Mohammed and Tamika, brought from the airport in Berlin by Tomek and Kasia (THANK YOU!) and – I had a chance to meet in person Lanre’s Brother and His Wife :) What a great Family meting! Despite short time (just three days), we could get to know each other, Kemi and Ife fell n love with their Aunt and Uncle, and we didn’t feel like letting them go. We just pray we can meet next holidays again!

Farewells said, we had to get back to work, and Kemi started her new level of education – primary school! She was more than excited to go to her new school, but Ife was the one “left behind” and he was very upset about it. Thankfully, he somehow rediscovered kindergarten by being there without Kemi’s constant support, and now they are both happy where they learn. Kemi learns fast and she enjoys all new things. Ife has lots of short trips which he also enjoys as he didn’t have them last year. Great changes for both of them!

And so the time flies :) We don’t really know how come it’s already almost the end of October, yet we are happy things are getting better with God on our side. What the new days will bring? we are not sure, but we are expecting them happily :)

catching the sun

Yes! Finally it is hot in Zielona Góra! As weather forecasts keep threatening us with rain, we decided to use the day to its best! We cycled a lot, did shopping around the midday, and after dinner we played the ball and later – cycling again. To make the day even nice, we were invited to the neighbours upstairs, so I had a nice chat and kids played a bit.

We also managed to pack for our trip to Marysia :) Poznan on Monday :)

What a nice Saturday!!!

fast run

We had 27 hours with Lanre – he came back yesterday and left today.  It was a crazy time – trying to catch up, lots of washing up, preparing and packing!  Somehow we managed to have a good time together and … we bought chairs and table for the balcony!

It was great to sit and eat together, even if for a short time! in nine days Lanre will be back. We can’t wait!!!

fighting the weather part 2

yes, it’s still cloudy and rainy outside with a crashing temperature of 14 degrees! I still haven’t figured out what happened with summer this year, but I am learning to use the bad weather well. Today I packed old clothes of children. On Monday I will have to take to the cellar all 5 bags of clothes – I hope my Sister has a baby soon, so we can pass all those clothes on her :) Thanks to the packing, kids’ shelves look much emptier and nicer, so – I am very happy about it!

fighting the weather with good mood

yes, this year July seems to be a bit… out of place! 14 Celsius degrees?? really?? and rain, rain, rain… still, these are holidays and no place for a depression. I started the day really nicely – with a small change of the looks :)

and we ended the day even nicer – at the swimming pool with Grandparents! there is no way the weather can beat us!
